Rise

"Rise" captures a moment that I just love - when geese surprise you with their calls and take flight or come in landing. It reminds me of Mary Oliver's poem, Wild Geese, and the momentary release from the preoccupations of life to be for a moment so present in a ritual of freedom and taking flight. It is a spiritual union with nature and her forces.

the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting - over and over announcing your place
in the family of things."
